An American Red Cross blood drive was held Wednesday at Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church on Union Street. The drive was organized as a way of supporting cancer patient Guy Hill. Tennova at Career Day (Business ~ 04/06/17)
Misty Slater of Tennova Family Practice-Tullahoma was one of the speakers at Shelbyville Rotary Club’s 42nd Annual Career Day. The event, held last month on the campus of Motlow State Community Collee, was for 10th grade students from Bedford County’s three public high schools. Slater’s presentation was entitled, “The Road from High School to MD.” She spoke on factors important to the students if they were considering going into the medical field. “It was a pleasure to speak with these young adults who are preparing for their futures,” Slater said. “Motlow State Community College and the Shelbyville Rotary Club are certainly to be commended for the planning and execution of this wonderful event.” From left are Slater and Barbara Blanton of Shelbyville Rotary Club. Whether areas struck hard by high winds Wednesday afternoon experienced a tornado or straight-line gusts, most people who rode out the storm agree: it was loud. Most damage was reported in a line from the Liberty School/Snell Road area to U.S. 231 South, just north of Snell Road, to State Highway 82 South near the Duck River bridge -- a clearly-defined damage path, indicative of a downburst if not a tornado... -

Thrown bottle hits Boys-Girls Club bus

The windshield of a Boys & GIrls Club bus carrying five children was heavily damaged by an "unknown device" thrown from a passing school bus Tuesday on South Cannon Boulevard, police were told. No one on the bus was injured. The club bus driver said he was soutbound near Snell Road with two Bedford County school buses coming toward him...
