Tims Ford State Park has a new manager, Sean Vinson. A “meet the manager” event was held on May 25. Vinson is a retired U.S. Army Field Grade Officer with more than two decades of leadership experience. He is an avid sportsman and has been employed with the Missouri Department of Conservation. A Middle Tennessee State University scholar will go to Russia this summer to conduct research into one of the strangest incidents of the Cold War. Hit-and-run suspect takes aim at witnesses

A driver allegedly fleeing a hit-and-run accident allegedly tried to run over two men who stopped to help Saturday night, according to police. Aaron Hernandez Acosta, 42, of Kayden Street was found in his home smoking pot a few minutes later, an SPD report said. Acosta allegedly ran off South Cannon Boulevard near his home, then drove directly at the men who had heard the crash before driving down Shelbyview Drive and, shortly, back to his home...
