An employee of a Shelbyville convenience store has been charged with stealing almost $1,500 from the office. Video footage shown Shelbyville police allegedly shows Brandon Mitchell, 34, of South Thompson Street entering the office of Quik Mart, Lane Parkway, at 9:42 a.m. Saturday, picking up a money bag containing $1,433.09 and replacing it with an empty one. Mitchell allegedly left with the bag, replaced the money with napkins and brought it back at 10:17 a.m., police said...

Locals shine in MidTN All-Star game (High School Sports ~ 06/16/17)
Recent Shelbyville Central and Cascade graduates Colt Williams and Seth Gardner (above) played in the MidTN High School All-Star game on Thursday evening at Vanderbilt’s Hawkins Field. Williams faced three batters in his lone inning of work, fanning all three, the last two looking for the Triple A squad. Gardner got the start at shortstop for the Double A team and scored a run.
