The Butler's Creek FCE met June 19 at the UT/TSU Extension office. Barbara Troxler called the meeting to order with a "Traveling Blessing." Melissa Turrentine gave the devotion. AAA may be forecasting that more Americans will travel for Independence Day, but some Bedford County residents said they plan to stay home for the holiday. A year ago this week, on July 1, 2016, supermarkets in Shelbyville and a number of other Tennessee cities began selling wine for the first time. "Wine sales have exceeded our expectations," said Melissa Eads, a spokesperson for Kroger in Middle Tennessee, in an email responding to a question from the Times-Gazette. Impact knocks driver off tractor (Local News ~ 06/28/17)
A 16-year-old boy was thrown off and seriously injured when this tractor, pulling a trailer, and a car collided on U.S. 231 North at Deason early Tuesday night. The boy was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, said State Trooper Christopher Judd, who would not identify him due to his age. A car driven by Amanda Dobbs, 25, of Murfreesboro struck the rear of the tractor, said Judd; both were northbound.
