Family train trip (Local News ~ 07/19/17)
The Rev. Jack V. Carney of Shelbyville, lower right, hosted his family for a ride on the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s Chickamauga Turn excursion train this month. The train, one of several day trips offered by the museum, travels from the museum (which is located in Chattanooga) to Chickamauga, Georgia, and back, with time for passengers to explore downtown Chickamauga, including the historic Gordon-Lee Mansion. On the way back, the train stops at Wilder Tower in Chickamauga National Military Park. The family got to enjoy lunch on the train’s dining car while on the way to Chickamauga. Carney’s daughter, Elecia Tucker, was part of the group but took this photo and is therefore not pictured.
