Enrollment in schools passes 8,500 (Local News ~ 08/23/17)
School enrollment as of last week was 8,591, an increase of 156 from a year ago, an official said. Superintendent Don Embry told the Board of Education about the enrollment numbers during the body's monthly meeting last Tuesday. James Franklin Cotham, 81, of Bell Buckle died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 at his home, A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Cascade High School gym. His family will have a private service at his camp in Lobelville to scatter his ashes. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
