Fake 'officers' force way into home, take money

Several men claiming to be from a Murfreesboro bail bond company -- and, at one point, police officers -- allegedly took money and a chain saw from two Bridlewood Drive residences last week. The trailers' landlord told police through a translator that a group of men, all in plainclothes but wearing vests with "agent" patches, pried their way into a locked home Saturday claiming to be police officers. ...

Local emergency service agencies — Shelbyville and Bedford County fire departments, Shelbyville Police Department, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, Bedford County Emergency Medical Services and Bedford County Emergency Management Agency — posted their annual display in observance of Patriot Day and the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Elliott and Jake Reddekopp officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. -
Police association to hold 10K/5K/1 mile walk

The Shelbyville Police Benevolent Association will host the Police Fun Run race Saturday, Sept. 30 at the SCHS parking lot next to the football stadium off Railroad Avenue.
