Amy Martin of the Bedford County Board of Education was honored last week with a state industry award. During its annual convention each year, the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) recognizes school board members who have served twenty-five years on their local boards of education. Laptop stolen from unattended cart

A laptop computer belonging to a Walmart vendor was stolen after being left in a shopping cart at mid-morning Tuesday. The computer was left in a shopping cart used by the vendor, who pushed it into a bin and left. Approximately 40 minutes later a suspect described only as an "elderly man" by police can be seen on surveillance video taking the Microsoft Surface, valued at $2,000. His vehicle was parked too far away from the camera to obtain a good description, police said...
