Newly-bought gun stolen from home

A recently-purchased Ruger 380 handgun was stolen over the weekend from a Meadowlark Drive home, the Bedford County Sheriff's Office was told. The victim said the gun had been hidden under a chest. No signs of forced entry were found. The following were charged since Wednesday by the Shelbyville Police Department, Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts...

Child hit, killed by lawn mower

A girl was struck and killed by a riding lawn mower in the yard of a home on U.S. 41A North between Shelbyville and Unionville last week, according to an investigative report released Thursday by the Bedford County Sheriff's Office.
