DAR meets (Local News ~ 05/01/18)
The Shelby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met April 25 at River Bend Country Club. The Women’s Issues Program was delivered by Lita York, Shelby Chapter chair, who gave a very interesting (and sometimes humorous) account of her training to become a nurse while enlisted in the military over 60 years ago. Paddlin' for Paws (Local News ~ 05/01/18)
The CG Freck Foundation gives Bedford County Animal Control a $5,000 donation following the fifth Paddlin’ for Paws fundraiser Saturday in Wartrace. Crystal meth found in home

Crystal meth found in a Buzzard Roost Road home Friday led to a resident's arrest on drug charges. The meth was found embedded in a carpet, atop a tool box and in a small bag in the home of Katelarn Anissa Baute, 26, said a Bedford County Sheriff's Office report. Household Hazardous Waste Day (Local News ~ 05/01/18)
The state held a household hazardous waste collection event Saturday at Big Springs Shopping Center. Scooter rider struck by car in parking lot
