Dr. T. Randall Curlee, 63, of Shelbyville and Knoxville, died on May 5, 2018 after a long struggle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a rare degenerative brain disease. His remains were cremated per his wishes and scattered in Cades Cove. -

Class of 1958 celebrates reunion (Features ~ 05/20/18)
Sixty years ago, 118 students, the CHS class of 1958, graduated from Shelbyville Central High School and began new adventures that would take us to all parts of the world. A few married classmates, some became successful business men and women and farmers in and around Shelbyville, some became successful engineers, lawyers, architects, nurses, accountants, and soldiers, and seven finished university with PhD's and became award winning scientists, professors, and entrepreneurs, spreading their influence from coast to coast. ... -

Taser stops DUI suspect after house struck

A taser was used on a driver who allegedly ran away after hitting a house on Shoma Drive late Thursday night, Shelbyville police said. Sgt. Linda Bomar Yockey is an independent candidate for re-election to a 5th District seat on Bedford County Board of Commissioners in the Aug. 2 general election.
