Man robs roommate of cellphone over debt

A man who allegedly ordered a roommate to hand over a cellphone as payment for a debt was charged with robbery Tuesday. Eric Livingston Brooks, 27, of Landers Street was arrested shortly after Shelbyville police were notified. Brooks allegedly threatened to physically attack the victim unless he handed over the phone. The victim said he could see an outline of a handgun in Brooks' pocket, according to officer Michael Taylor's report...

Commission approves budget

Bedford County Board of Commissioners approved a $109 million county budget Tuesday night for the 2018-19 fiscal year which will begin July 1.
