A severely-damaged Honda four-wheeler was stolen from a shop at a Pinkston Road home overnight Tuesday, the Bedford County Sheriff's Office was told. South Main Street crash (Local News ~ 06/15/18)
Joyce Marsh is checked by medical personnel after she lost control of her car and struck the front steps of Shelbyville Power System headquarters on South Main Street around 7:15 a.m. Friday. Marsh, of Smith Street, told police she accidently hit the gas instead of her brake pedal. She was not believed to be seriously injured, officer Michael Taylor said. (T-G Photo by David Melson) -
Hay runs write-inrace for US Senate (Local News ~ 06/15/18)
Tommy N. Hay of Monterey, a former resident of Shelbyville, is a write-in candidate for U.S. Senate in the Aug. 2 Republican primary. Hay said he was denied a place on the GOP primary ballot "according to a new rule they dreamed up." Burglars try to hit 3 homes

Former governor Phil Bredesen, now a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, met with a small group of Bedford County farmers Thursday in a barn south of Flat Creek, to talk about tariffs and their impact.
