Most items driven away in stolen SUV recovered

An SUV and several items stolen Saturday from a Belmont Avenue home were recovered Sunday. Police were still looking Monday for a laptop computer that had been in the home. The 2002 Chevrolet Suburban was found Sunday on Midland Road with a dead battery, empty gas tank and two cell phones from the home inside. The burglary occurred Saturday between 2-5:30 p.m, and the victim suspects a man who had access to the home. No signs of forced entry were evident...

Duck River Electric Membership Corporation closed its offices Friday afternoon to observe the passing of one of its own, Ray "Dean" Batey.
