I feel the general consensus is that it's time for all political commercials ... to take leave. We're coming down to the wire, in more ways than one, toward the Nov. 6 election. Some ads do make me laugh. Rebuttal political ads -- getting a bit mucky at this stage -- remind me of the little kid who says, "I didn't do it."...

DAR meeting (Local News ~ 10/26/18)
The Shelby Chapter of DAR met Oct. 24 at River Bend Country Club. In the absence of Regent Muriel Robinson, Second Vice Regent Ardis Caffey presided. In observance of the upcoming Veterans Day, Pamela Robinson, County Service Officer and Elaine Cornett, Office Administrator, Veterans Affairs, spoke concerning veterans benefits and procedures for obtaining these benefits for both the veterans and dependents. Katie Lee "Kitty" Rambo Graham, founder of the Shelbyville-Bedford County Humane Association and life-long advocate for animal welfare, passed away Tuesday. She was 87. In 1978, Graham chartered SBCHA. She remained a member until her passing. Since the organization's inception 40 years ago, over 13,000 dogs and cats have been rescued, board members say.
