Villanueva receives Motlow Foundation scholarships (Local News ~ 11/29/18)
Carolina Villanueva, a Motlow nursing student from Shelbyville, was recently awarded the Harton Hospital Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship and the Bell-Harrison Scholarship for the 2018-19 academic year. The Bedford County FFA Chapter of Shelbyville Central High School traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend the 91st Annual National FFA Convention, which was held Oct. 23-27. The chapter competed in the Meats Evaluation and Technology CDE and the Farm and Agribusiness Management CDE as they were the Tennessee State Champions for both events. ... -

Two men charged with shoplifting from Dollar General Market, North Main Street, on Tuesday had drugs or residue on them when arrested, police said. Tennessee Department of Education’s Read to be Ready is aimed at helping schools achieve higher reading success. Bell Buckle will hold its Old Fashioned Christmas for the next three Saturdays, and will hold its Quilt Walk this weekend. The Quilt Walk will take place Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event started in 1982. Community Clinic adds diabetes help
