McGee promoted to lending officer (Business ~ 01/30/19)
First Community Bank of Tennessee recently announced the promotion of David McGee II as a lending officer at its main office on Elm Street. McGee has been with First Community Bank since 2014, working with the electronic banking department and assisting the IT director. He completed the Southeastern School of Banking in 2017, and is a 2003 graduate of Tennessee Technological University. “We are pleased to have David and his willingness to serve our customers to join our lending team,” said CEO Scott Cocanougher. Brighten Your Corner Award (Business ~ 01/30/19)
Cooper Steel employees work very hard to make their company number one in the field of project management, detailing and more. For its recent renovations on Hillcrest Drive, the Shelbyville plant was presented the “Brighten Your Corner” award by Shelbyvillle-Bedford County Chamber of Commerce. When I was driving into work Tuesday morning, I heard a gospel song once made popular by Elvis Presley. I'll tell you about that song later in the column. This spiritual got me to thinking a familiar thought. For many years, I've pondered why Elvis did not commit his life full-time to gospel music. Why didn't he just give up rock 'n roll?
