Quilt of Valor presented (Local News ~ 03/22/19)
Walter Phillip Douglas was recently presented with a Quilt of Valor and a plaque for his service in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army from May 1970 through December 1971. FFA Helps Out (Local News ~ 03/22/19)
Spring Break commences next week for Bedford County students, which means the kids who normally receive essential BackPacks will not have that opportunity. First Presbyterian and Edgemont Baptist members, along with Shelbyville Lions Club, gathered last Sunday to pack 130 boxes for school social workers to hand out to those students. Suspect accused of vehicle burglaries (Local News ~ 03/22/19)
A suspect has been charged in connection with burglaries of several vehicles at Curl Construction in Wartrace. John Pickelsimer, currently in custody on other charges at Rutherford County Jail in Murfreesboro, faces four counts of burglary and two counts of theft of property over $1,000, Detective Lt. Shofner Bridge Road will be closed at its intersection with U.S. 41A for the next 12 months, as a result of the ongoing project to widen 41A to four lanes. Jones Bros. Contractors announced the closure on Wednesday. Kevin Hinson of Jones Bros. estimates that the closure will begin on or about April 1 and will last about a year. Traffic will be detoured during the closure... -
