Quilt of Valor given to Caffey (Local News ~ 04/09/19)
Doyle Medford Caffey was recently presented with a Quilt of Valor for his service in the U.S. Army from 1950-52. Accepting the honor with him at Carriage House Inn Senior Living Center were, from left, wife Peggy and daughter Cindy Caffey. Local quilter Amy Martin (not pictured) made the official presentation. The national Quilt of Valor Foundation strives to honor servicemen and veterans touched by war. Since 2003, the foundation, begun by the mother of a U.S. soldier in Iraq, has presented more than 200,000 quilts. (Submitted photo) -
