Female veterans encouraged to attend (Local News ~ 05/01/19)
Women who have served in the military in any era are being encouraged to attend next week’s meeting of Vietnam Era Veterans. Carolyn Smith will speak; she is a licensed clinical social worker and the women veterans program manager for the Veterans Administration’s Tennessee Valley Heatlhcare System. The meeting will be held May 9 at El Mexico Restaurant, 724 North Main St., and will begin with a dutch treat meal at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to all veterans, men and women. First Choice Pregancy Counseling Center will hold its annual Fish Fry and Auction Saturday, May 11, at Walnut Ridge Farm, 1198 Whiteside Hill Road.
