I am sure that many of you have heard of the butterfly effect. Wikipedia defines it this way: "In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state." Thus, the theory that given the right conditions, a butterfly flapping its wings around the world from where we are now, might conceivably be the cause of a tornado here weeks after the event...

Recent retiree Jackie Yoes says in total, she’s worked on concrete for 54 years. She was recently acknowledged by Bedford County Board of Education for having served 41 of those years in the East Side Elementary School cafeteria. A retirement ceremony was held by BCBE recently for Yoes and 21 other retiring employees.
