We call them “visitors.” They broke a window and stole a guitar some sound equipment and vandalized enough to destroy one security camera and some other electronic equipment...

To the Editor: I recently received news from The Heritage Foundation that would be of interest to people living in Tennessee. President Trump and conservatives in Congress kept their promise to cut taxes for the American people. Now we have angry liberals claiming that taxpayers “do not want to keep their money.” Obviously they did not talk to this taxpayer! Heritage will use results of their ballot being sent out to make sure the public and lawmakers understand that the American people support lower taxes. ...

Drivers injured (Local News ~ 06/13/19)
Drivers of both vehicles were injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Madison Street at Wartrace Pike. Sara E. The 25th annual RC Cola/Moon Pie Festival will be held Saturday in Bell Buckle. Replacement TCAT campus proposed at industrial park (Local News ~ 06/13/19)
At a meeting Wednesday, local leaders put forth a case for the state to build a new $35-40 million dollar campus for Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Shelbyville to be built at the 231 North Business Park. The new campus, if and when it's completed, would completely replace the existing TCAT site on Madison Street. But it might have to be built in phases, depending on how much the state is willing to commit and whether other funding, such as grants, can be obtained... -

Mrs. Carry May Bernd, 79, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at her home. Funeral services will be Monday, June 17, 2019, at 11 AM at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Bobby McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Pressgrove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time Monday.
