Bill Faulkenberry Sr., 86, of Shelbyville, formerly of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill with Bro. Eddie Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Coleman Cemetery in the Wheel community. Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m, Tuesday.

Jerry Giles, 87, of the Moon Bend community died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at his home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill with Rev. Mike Giles officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Simpson Cemetery in Rover. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Fudge galore (Local News ~ 07/29/19)
Terry Crook and wife, Kathy (not pictured) travel all the way from McKenzie, Alabama to display their fudge recipe at the Bedford County Fair. He says the fudge currently ranks third in the Sweetest Bakery in America competition. He’s obviously looking for more votes for first place for Sweet Barn Fudge. Hank’s Teddy Bearcat, shown by Hank Harris of Shelbyville, was named Reserve Champion ShorthornPlus Prospect Steer at the 2019 National Junior Shorthorn Show and Youth Conference in Lebanon in June. Mother puts child into ‘solitary confinement’ (Local News ~ 07/29/19)
A young Shelbyville boy was allegedly kept in “solitary confinement” for four days with breaks only for food and to use the bathroom, Shelbyville police were told. Emma Adriana Lott, 22, of Landers Street is charged with child abuse. Police were notified Friday after the boy complained of back pain to a caregiver, who allegedly saw bruises on his back, ribs and buttocks. An officer saw bruises on both arms, both buttocks, a thigh and one rib area... -
