Criminal Justice students give back (Local News ~ 11/22/19)
Shelbyville Central High School Criminal Justice instructor Chris Hobbs and assistant principal Michael McCoin have teamed up with the Criminal Justice Student Organization, Yoes Barber Shop, Bedford Farmers CO-OP and Dollar General to provide needy children across the Bedford County community with toys for Christmas. If any child is in need, contact Hobbs at the Shelbyville Central High School Annex at 931-684-1889 and have the child placed on the donation list. Any citizen interested in helping a needy child can drop a new toy off at any of the donation centers listed above. -
Gun season for deer opens Saturday (Local News ~ 11/22/19)
Tennessee's 2019-20 statewide gun hunting season for deer opens Saturday. Deer gun season has the traditional opening date of the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving. During gun season, sportsmen may also use muzzleloader or archery equipment. In the newly-created Unit CWD, guns have been permitted since the start of muzzleloader-archery season on Nov. 9. Retail stores hit by burglar (Local News ~ 11/22/19)
An after-hours intruder stole money from two Madison Street businesses early Thursday, and investigators say they haven’t determined if he is the same man who committed similar break-ins a few weeks ago. Several hundred dollars total was taken from the stores, with exact figures still to be determined, according to Shelbyville police. Detective Sgt.
