J. D. Milligan died Thursday, December 19, 2019, at his home. Funeral services 2 p.m. Monday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Brother Don Frensley and Brother Charles Williams will officiate, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and beginning at 1 p.m. Monday. -

Eddings of Shelbyville was among students who received degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin during fall commencement held Dec. 14 in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on the UT Martin campus. For years, several local government and not-for-profit agencies have received donations at this time of year from an anonymous party, who submits the money through the county mayor’s office. Higher rural water pressure sought (Local News ~ 12/20/19)
During committee meetings on Tuesday, county commissioner and county Fire Chief Mark Thomas said that rural utilities need to step up and find ways of increasing water pressure to support fire protection.
