Bobby Hale, 89, of Rover died Friday, December 20, 2019 at his home. Graveside services, with military honors, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Cothran Cemetery in Rover Community with Rev. Bobby Maxwell officiating. There will be no visitation. Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapel Hill is handling arrangements.

Enoch Ensley Jarrell, Sr., 85, of Bedford County died Sunday, December 22, 2019. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill. Visitation will begin at noon. A private burial will follow at Jarrell Cemetery.

FFA donates to Junior's House (Local News ~ 12/23/19)
Bedford County FFA from Shelbyville Central High School made their annual donation to Junior’s House, an advocacy group supporting abused children in southern Middle Tennessee, on Friday. More than 250 toys collected by the FFA were brought to Shelbyville police headquarters. Detective Carol Jean, who works with troubled youth, and Police Chief Jan Phillips stand with FFA advisors Tommy Green and Jordin Ray and FFA officers Allison McCarty, president; Cali Mason, vice-president; Dorothy Brandon, secretary; Khloe Davis, treasurer; and Nick Moore, sentinel. Allin, a therapy dog who comforts Junior’s House clients, attended with his handler, Crystal Guess, the group’s executive director. -
Cascade FFA promotes ag literacy (Local News ~ 12/23/19)
As a part of the Cascade FFA PLOW program, the agricultural education classes created posters and displays that included information and pictures about different kinds of animals. They are set up in the school library where other students and teachers can learn about the impact of agriculture in Tennessee. -
Woman reported missing (Local News ~ 12/23/19)
Misty Pannett, 39, was reported missing Friday by her family. Pannett is listed as homeless and was last seen by a friend in the Shoma Park area with another female named Shanna or Shaunna a few weeks ago. At that time she was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket, and had red hair. Pannett's family has not received any contact with her by phone or social media within the last several weeks... -
