My ‘Wilson’ on a deserted island

There are lessons to be learned while living and working as a journalist within a pandemic. One thing I have learned is that that there are some people who likely wouldn’t make good partners if ever stranded on a desert island. Of course while I would choose to be with my family, you don’t always get that choice. So I thought a lot about the people I would and would not chose to become my “Wilson.” (From Tom Hanks’ movie “Cast Away.”)...

A marijuana odor from a box delivered to a Shelbyville apartment complex’s office resulted in the arrest of two people on drug charges Tuesday, police said. An employee noticed the odor and called police. Expected COVID-19 related economic worries concerned county commissioners and County Mayor Chad Graham on Tuesday as Bedford County Commission’s finance committee met. Finance Director Robert Daniel told the panel the county hasn’t yet felt the loss of sales tax revenue due to pandemic-related business closures, but that loss should pick up in the next few weeks.
