Fantastic weather weekend beckons

It is going to be a fantastic weekend of weather across Bedford County and all of Middle Tennessee with sunshine and lower humidity, high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s and dropping into the 50s at night. This nice weather pattern will continue through Monday and then the heat will quickly come back starting on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s. Rain chances next week look to stay low until at least Thursday or Friday...

Assault suspect charged with resisting arrest (Local News ~ 05/30/20)
A domestic assault suspect was charged with resisting arrest Thursday, police said, Fillip Beau Kiser, 23 of Elizabeth Street is also charged with aggravated domestic assault and violation of an order of protection. Kiser allegedly admitted he’d been to his ex-girlfriend’s nearby Elizabeth Street apartment in violation of an order of protection. The victim and another family member told police Kiser physically abused them... -

Wartrace firefighters seek freedom from the county (Local News ~ 05/30/20)
Wartrace firefighters claim that Bedford County Fire Department officials are orchestrating a coup, trying to undermine their department, hoping that it fails so they can take over firefighting operations in Wartrace. Wartrace firefighters are also upset because of the amount of time they spend eight miles from town, compromising their readiness for local incidents, covering County Station 1 in Shelbyville, when county firefighters are out on a call. ... -

A Dowelltown man has been charged as a suspect in a murder last March in Shelbyville, police said. Colby Ray Watford, 26, was picked up by Shelbyville police and DeKalb County deputies at a Dowelltown residence. He is charged with first degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond... -
