Soup kitchen donation (Local News ~ 07/07/20)
Shelbyville Community Soup Kitchen volunteers, Barbara Pate and Kay Bartley, couldn’t wait last week to let the Times-Gazette know that as a result of the June 23 front page article, “Community Soup Kitchen needs more dough,” State Farm agents Deb Insell and Ralph Allen made a generous $3,000 donation to the non profit. From left, Bartley, Pate, Insell and Allen. Oh, and “Jake from State Farm.” Due to COVID-19, boxed meals are currently being distributed by the soup kitchen on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the old Save-A-Lot building on Cannon Boulevard. -
