Even now, living in the midst of a historic pandemic, 87-year-old Willene Fulton’s vitality still amazes family and friends. She’s certainly a survivor, living to tell her great-grandkids about Bedford County history, which includes her survival of the 1974 tornado-one which totally destroyed her Rover home. She and youngest son, Thomas “Tommy” were home that evening alone when the tornado tossed their car into the house which then caused a piano to fall on Willene’s ankle... -
Stolen ladder found in homeless man’s camp (Local News ~ 07/25/20)
A ladder stolen Wednesday from a construction site at Edgemont Baptist Church was found by police at a “makeshift camp” on Deery Street occupied by the suspect, who police say is homeless. Co-workers at Kincaid Service Company and many of their customers are mourning the COVID-19 related loss of a longtime service technician who had become more like a family member. Ray Scott Holston, 47, of the Kelso community in Lincoln County, died Wednesday at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Holston became ill in late June, Mark Kincaid said Thursday...

Bedford County school officials said recently that the system, as well as the state, will expect no less from its nearly 600 students registered for virtual learning than those physically present at school buildings when the doors open Aug. 3.
