2021 Grain Conference

It will be different this time since we are doing it virtual, but our experience with other programs has been very positive. The new virtual conference will have some live presentations online, and then there will be classes recorded that the farmers will be able to watch and receive credit for these sessions. ...

To the editor, Our country has reached a pinnacle of violence the likes of which hasn't been seen since the Civil War era. It is the mostly pro-Trump supporters this time who were the violent mobs rioting and shooting in the nation's capitol. However, this deplorable unlawful action pales beside the chaos, looting and deadly riots that have inundated our country for the past year mostly condoned and sanctioned by the left wing minority radicals of the Democrat party; which, by the way, does not represents a vast majority of the law abiding moderate Democrats no more than the violent Republican radicals represent the majority of Republicans.. ...

New system for local COVID-19 vaccination

Bedford County Health Department will begin using a new appointment system for COVID-19 vaccinations starting on Monday. No vaccine will be given without an appointment. Currently, the vaccine is being offered to those 75 and older as well as first responders and healthcare workers. ...

In the first 10 days of the new year, 536 residents of Bedford County have tested positive for the coronavirus. During that 10 days, there were 1,546 tests conducted in the county.
