Ester hits a winning shot -- again

Being in the right place at the right time certainly has had its rewards for Jared Ester and the Shelbyville Golden Eagles.

Ester, for the second time in two weeks, has hit the winning shot.

This one put Shelbyville (18-8, 10-2 District 8-AAA) over visiting Hendersonville (11-6, 7-3 District 9-AAA) 55-53 Thursday night.

"The play was designed to go to D. J. (Phelps) and I was just making sure I was on the off side to rebound and It bounced my way," Ester said.

Since this was the last regular season game for Shelbvyille's seniors they wanted to finish with a win. "It was pretty important to us. We all wanted to come out and play good in front of the home crowd and to get momentum going into next week for the District tournament," Ester said.
