Every team in the National Football League would have claimed a victory in Week 10 had they held their opponent to just three points.
The Titan defense did just that last Sunday in Nashville.
Unfortunately, special teams gave up a punt return for a touchdown to Chicago. The Bear defense also scored a defensive touchdown and a game-winning safety for a 19-17 overtime victory.
"It is just frustrating right now," Tennessee linebacker Keith Bullock said. "We have to cause turnovers, get the ball and take it that way."
Even though Billy Volek made a bad decision on the interception that cost the Titans seven points, he has been more than serviceable in the absence of reigning NFL MVP Steve McNair.
"When we needed him to move the football, he moved the football," said wide receiver Derrick Mason of Volek, who threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. "That's what you ask out of your quarterback."
So, what is it then? The defense showed up and caused multiple turnovers. The offense accounted for over 400 total yards.
"It seems sometimes that we are not playing to win," Mason said. "When you play not to lose, you are going to lose each and every time. You don't have that hunger or drive."
