Woodall hits, Vikings don't

Chavis Woodall's two 3-pointers and 13 total points would not be enough for Community as they fell 54-30 to Middle Tennessee Christian on Tuesday night in Murfreesboro.

Harry Cheng hit four 3s and finished with 12 points for the Cougars. Joey Fletcher added 11.

Middle Tennessee Christian led 15-4 rounding out the first quarter, 23-18 at the half and 41-27 after three quarters of play.

The Vikings will face Cornersville tomorrow night at 8 at Motlow State in the opening game of the District 11-A Tournament.

Middle Tennessee Christian 53, Community 27 (G): In Murfreesboro, Latoya Morton paced the Viqueens with 10 points in their loss.

A tough going on the offensive end did Community in early in the contest. The Lady Cougars didn't make things any easier as they nailed four 3s in the first frame.

The Lady Cougars led 18-8 after the first quarter, 31-8 at the half and 42-14 moving into the fourth quarter.

Jessica Marcum had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, for Middle Tennessee Christian.
