Clint Confehr, a radio, TV and newspaper reporter since 1972, has joined the Times-Gazette news staff.
A graduate of the University of Maryland's College of Journalism, he has reported on manned and unmanned space shots for a CBS radio affiliate in Florida and interviewed the Rev. Jerry Falwell in Lynchburg, Va., for the Saturday Evening Post.
Confehr moved to Tennessee in 1980 and wrote news for The Herald-Chronicle in Winchester during the 1980s, The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro in the 1990s, and The Review-Appeal in Franklin before it was acquired by Gannett.
During the mid to late 1990s, he wrote and announced news for WAPB AM and WHRT TV-27 in Murfreesboro while continuing his coverage of Murfreesboro and Williamson County for the evening daily there.
Confehr is married to the former Susan Lane, a second grade teaher in the Williamson County school system. The Confehrs plan to move to Shelbyville.
Confehr, who has established temporary quarters in Shelbyville until the move, writes about the courts, police, the hospital and other matters of general interest in Bedford County.
