The Sunday screening will be at 1, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. and are free, compliments of GADA Films. The Saturday, Aug. 13, "red carpet" premiere will be invitation only and invitations will be arriving via mail from Hollywood this week, according to Louise Russell, assistant to writer/director Cameron Watson.
Mary Badham, who played Scout in the 1962 classic, "To Kill A Mockingbird," is confirmed to attend the weekend festivities.
The first screening on Sunday afternoon will include a lobby mingle with the stars and the filmmakers and a talk-back session after the screening with Watson and the filmmakers.
Several locals involved with the film will be invited to that screening as well. There will be tickets available to that screening for the public, followed by three additional screenings throughout the day. The filmmakers and Watson will be on hand for all screenings.
A pre-screening reception to benefit The Fly Arts Center will be held at The Fly on Aug. 13 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets are being sold for that event through the Uptown Merchants. For details, contact Janice Cole of the Arts Council at 703-7613 or Betty Harrison at 684-6223.
GADA Films stated that there had been a change in the afterparty location. It will not be at the Blue Ribbon Room as previously planned. The location will be announced as soon as it is secured.
