'Our Very Own' tickets sell out

Tuesday, August 9, 2005

They are all gone.

Folks who lined up for tickets to the free Sunday screenings of "Our Very Own" scooped them up in just 90 minutes Saturday.

With 364 seats in the Capri Theater and four screenings, that's 1,456 lucky moviegoers who will see the film that was shot in Shelbyville last summer.

"Our Very Own" was conceived by Shelbyville native Cameron Watson, and is a semi-autobiographic tale set in 1978 starring Allison Janney, Keith Carradine and Cheryl Hines along with rising stars Jason Ritter, Autumn Reeser and Hilarie Burton.

This Saturday's "red carpet" premiere will be invitation only. Those invitations are arriving via mail from Hollywood, according to Louise Russell, assistant to writer/director Watson.

The premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June was well received, Watson said.

Mary Badham, who played Scout in the 1962 classic, "To Kill A Mockingbird," is confirmed to attend the weekend festivities. Also confirmed is Autumn Reeser, who plays Melora in the film, and veteran character actress Beth Grant. More star appearences may be announced this week.

GADA Films stated that there had been a change in the afterparty location. It will not be at the Blue Ribbon Room as previously planned. The location will be announced as soon as it is secured.
