Aside from the many locals who were extras, two area brothers, Josh and Jonathan Holt, helped out in the production both in front of and behind the camera while the movie was filmed here last summer.
They are the sons of Gary and Sandy (Self) Holt of Murfreesboro and the grandsons of Bettie and Erwin Self of Shelbyville.
Jonathan was assistant to director Cameron Watson during the month of shooting. Watson, who also wrote the film, is a Shelbyville native.
Jonathan is a senior at Middle Tennessee State University majoring in Music Business and studied at King's College in London this summer.
Josh has an appearance in the movie as character Billy Franklin along with Jonathan, who was an extra. Josh currently lives in Los Angeles working toward a film career.
He has already had guest appearances on episodes of the television shows "Gilmore Girls," "Jack and Bobby," and "Star Trek - Enterprise."
The pair have a younger brother, Matthew, and a sister, Angela, who live in Murfreesboro.
The Sunday screenings of "Our Very Own" will be at 1, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. and are "sold out." The Saturday "red carpet" premiere will be invitation only and invitations will be arriving via mail from Hollywood this week, according to Louise Russell, assistant to writer/director Watson.
A pre-screening reception to benefit The Fly Arts Center will be held at The Fly from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are being sold through the Uptown Merchants. For details, contact Janice Cole of the Arts Council at 703-7613 or Betty Harrison at 684-6223.
GADA Films stated that the afterparty will not be at the Blue Ribbon Room as previously planned. The location will be announced when secured.
