Things didn't work the Feet's way in a 26-22 loss.

In a low scoring affair, the Cougars led 5-3 after one quarter, and the half ended with the score knotted at 10-all.

Webb led by as many as five points in the third quarter on 4-of-4 shooting from the free-throw line by Jordan Burchett but was unable to sustain any type of momentum as the quarter ended with Middle Tennessee Christian ahead 21-18.

"This was far and away our worst offensive outing of the year," Feet coach Jon Bloom said. "We had good looks at the basket, but we just couldn't get it to fall."

The fourth quarter saw four lead changes and the game was not decided until the final minutes as Webb had numerous opportunities to put the Cougars away, but just could not get their shots to fall.

A 3-pointer by Burchett with 16 seconds left that would have tied the game was negated by a walking call.

"Our defense played well," Bloom said. "We knew that they would be a tough team to defend one on one, but the kids held them to just 26 points. That will usually win you a lot of ballgames. We will just have to get back into the gym and improve our shooting.

"This is a good group. I know that they are as disappointed as I am in tonight's results. I guarantee that they will be eager to show that this game was not indicative of how well we are capable of playing. It should be an excellent motivating factor to work hard at proving that we are a better team than we showed tonight."

Webb (1-5) was led by Burchett and Mic Floeter also with seven points each.

The Cougars (1-6) were led in scoring by Jonathon Sims and Jake Siler with seven points apiece.
