"Our kids scratched and clawed to get back to within one," first-year Feet coach Jeff Mitchell said. "We got pretty good effort and it was a good learning experience."
After falling behind 14-4 in the first quarter, Webb (1-1) bounced back to trail just 23-21 at the break.
The Feet turned up the defensive pressure in the third stanza, shutting out Middle Tennessee Christian (2-0) to take a 29-23 lead into the fourth.
The teams were knotted at 36-all after regulation.
"We got fairly stagnant in the fourth quarter," Mitchell said. "Our defense came up big to get a stop when MTCS had a chance to win it before overtime."
Jordan Burchett totaled 12 points lead Webb. Mic Floeter added 10.
Caleb Beckham scored a game-high 25 points for the Cougars.
The Feet host University School of Nashville on Monday night at 7:30.
