Police say they found marijuana in a car stopped for speeding Thursday night on North Main Street.

A "roach" was detected in an ash tray and seeds with a small amount of marijuana between the car's seats by drug dog Remy, Officer Tracey Nelson said.

MIchael Pierce Bell, 26, Chestnut Drive, was charged with simple possession and driving on a suspended license restricting vehicle use to 8 a.m.-8 p.m. He posted $1,500 bond.

Stereo stolen

A Kenwood vehicle dashboard-mount CD player/television was taken from a file cabinet at Quality Collision, Depot Street, between 12:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

An employee described three suspects as black males between ages 19-23 with slim to average builds, one with "frizzy" hair in a pony tail, and driving a dark green Chevrolet Caprice.
