A Kentucky woman was seriously injured late Sunday afternoon when her SUV overturned near Cascade School.

Larita M. Davidson, 47, Franklin, Ky., lost control of her Ford Escape on a sharp turn south of the school on Wartrace-Bell Buckle Road about 5 p.m.

"She was southbound, ran off the road into a field, came back across, hit an embankment and flipped," State Trooper Chad McAnally said.

Davidson was unconscious and pinned in the vehicle when rescuers arrived. She was taken by Bedford County ambulance to a field next to Cascade School, then by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

McAnally said Davidson was suffering from head trauma and a hand injury.
