James "Woody" Lanier, 69, of Shelbyville died Friday at his home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bright Temple Church of God in Christ with Dr. Robin Kimbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A Masonic service will be held at 10:30.
