Mother and son share marijuana

Saturday, October 6, 2007

Shelbyville police arrested four suspects on drug-related charges Thursday night.

*Officers' senses of smell led to a mother and son admitting they'd smoked marijuana together.

After questioning Kristopher Paul Henson, 19, Madison Street Apartments, on an unrelated matter Shelbyville officer David Curley and Bedford County deputy David Sakich both noted they'd smelled marijuana. Sakich said he thought the odor was coming from Henson.

The officers returned to the home and asked Christine Guerrero, 38, about the smell. Guerrero allegedly said no marijuana was in the home and consented to a search of the residence.

Guerrero and Henson eventually admitted having used marijuana moments before police arrived, and previous use of crack cocaine, after scales, pipes and items which could be used to prepare and smoke pot were found, police said.

Guerrero, listed as Christine Henson on the Bedford County Jail intake report, posted $500 bond. Her son posted $1,000 bond.

*Marijuana was found in H.V. Griffin Park for the second time in a week.

Margie Grace Drennan, 21, Elizabeth Street, and a teenage girl were searched by police after a park security guard reported they were drinking.

Drennan was allegedly in possession of 5.95 grams of marijuana. Rolling papers and prescription drugs, for which Drennan had no prescription, were found in her car, police said.

*Adrian Adair Buck, 42, Cedar River Road, was arrested on Apache Place after police answered a call about an alleged prowler.

Buck's truck was allegedly blocking the driveway of a home and smelled of alcohol inside, police said.

Curley said a search of the truck revealed 2.62 grams of a "leafy green substance" believed to be marijuana, rolling papers and a small, glass pipe like those used to smoke crack cocaine.

Buck was charged with possession of a schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. He posted $1,000 bond.
