Celebration names CEO search committee

Saturday, December 15, 2007
The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration has formed a search committee to find a new chief executive officer and show manager. Director Pat Marsh, who will serve as the committee's chairman, selected the seven-member committee.

The members of the committee are all members of the TWHNC Association. In addition to Marsh, they include Tommy Anderton, David Crowell, Edward C. Huffman, Jr., Scott McDonald, D.B. Nelson, Jr., and Donna Stone.

"I'm pleased that this group of individuals has agreed to take on this very important task," said Marsh. "They all understand the importance of The Celebration to this community and will work extremely hard to target the right individual to move this organization forward."

The committee will convene in the next week for an initial meeting to review the job description and finalize the search process.

All applications and resumes should be sent to The Celebration office at P.O. Box 1010, Shelbyville, TN 37162. They should be sent to the attention of Administrative Assistant Connie Nixon. After the first of the year, the committee will meet weekly to review any applications that have been received. All information from applicants should be received by Jan. 31, 2008.

After the committee has received and reviewed all applications and resumes, they will make recommendations to the Celebration Board of Directors.

"I want to personally thank each of these individuals for agreeing to be on this committee and bringing their talents to it," said Celebration Chairman David L. Howard.

The Board of Directors hopes to have a new CEO in place within 60-90 days.
