Money-seeking women grab wallet

Two women claiming they needed money for car repairs took off with the wallet of a man searching for change, police said.

The women knocked on the door of Rolando Nieto, Hillcrest Apartments, Monday night.

As Nieto went upstairs the women grabbed the wallet, containing $200, from a gym bag and fled.

One suspect was described as standing 5-feet-6 with blonde hair and appearing pregnant; the other was skinny, about the same height with black-streaked blonde hair.

Boat cover stolen

A boat cover was stolen from the bed of a truck outside the Jeffery Hill home, Providence Road, overnight Sunday, police said.

Jail intake

The following persons were arrested since Monday by the Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Shelbyville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force and processed through Bedford County Jail. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.

*Eric John Becker, 39, White Street; public intoxication, possession of schedule VI drug; held, $2,000 bond

*Lamal Lovette Hall, 34, Orchard Lane; violation of probation, bondsman surrender; held, $10,000 bond

*Donald Ray Hedgecoth, 51, Smyrna; burglary, theft of property (two counts), vandalism; held, $106,000 bond

*Michael Charles Horn, 37, Bethany Lane; domestic assault (two counts), reckless endangerment; released, $35,000 bond

*David Thomas Nowlin, 25., Sims Road; driving on revoked/suspended license, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, forgery, theft of property; held, $29,500 bond

*Jonathan Allen Potts, 29, Manchester; held for extradition on unspecified charge
