It certainly is for the Webb Feet, who are getting quite used to winning and winning big.
The Feet stayed with that theme Saturday night, improving to 18-3 with a 66-38 trouncing of visiting Huntland in Bell Buckle.
"I tell you if you would have told me that at the beginning of the season, I would have taken it," Webb coach Jeff Mitchell said about his squad's current standing. "That team (Huntland) had us down four at halftime at their place the second game of the season, so I think the main thing is we are playing with more confidence. It has taken a while, but we expect good things to happen now."
Good things happened right after the opening tip for the home team as it cruised to an early 12-2 advantage. Maintaining that lead for the remainder of the first period, the Feet grabbed a 19-10 advantage after one quarter.
"We came out, jumped out on them quick and got a nice lead," Mitchell said. "It was eight or 10, and we really wanted to make a push and try to get it to 20.
"We like to make goals like that. You never know if you can do it, but, if you can, it's awful hard for a team to come back down 20 on the road."
Webb used that motivation to pick up its defensive intensity and it worked in a hurry. Following a flurry of steals and easy baskets, the hosts responded with two consecutive 10-2 outbursts to take complete control at 41-16 by halftime.
"I thought it was one of our better defensive efforts in the half-court," Mitchell said about his team's play in the opening half. "We took a couple charges and our guards rotated really well."
The Feet outscored the Hornets 14-11 in the third stanza as the entire team got into the action.
"We were fortunate to play a lot of people in the second half and get a lot of good experience for some of these guys in a varsity game," Mitchell said.
Webb jumped in front by as many as 32 points in the final period before settling with the 28-point victory.
Hunter Foutch and Jalen Mosley guided the Feet offense with 12 points apiece.
"We rebounded well offensively and Jalen (Mosley) did a really good job in our press," Mitchell said.
"That's big whenever we get a contribution like that out of him offensively because he does so much for us defensively as far as pace of the game and how active he is."
Jordan Burchett tossed in another 10 tallies for the winners.
Huntland was led by Austin Williams' nine markers.
Webb stays at home to host region foe Davidson Academy on Tuesday night.
