It was only a matter of time.

After a sluggish first quarter filled with missed opportunities, the Webb Feet quickly woke up and used an impressive, game-changing 20-2 outburst during the second period to cruise to a convincing 64-38 win over visiting Davidson Academy on Tuesday evening at Barton Athletic Center.

Hunter Foutch, along with Logan Burchett and Jordan Foutch, sparked both the Feet offense and defense during the lopsided second quarter.

"He played really well offensively and defensively," Webb coach Jeff Mitchell said about Hunter Foutch's standout performance of 23 points and 10 rebounds. "He's been playing like that all year, averaging 16 points and eight rebounds.

"Logan made two big 3s and I thought Jordan Foutch played great defense. He got three big steals and did a real nice job in our press during the first half."

Burchett finished with 16 points, while Jordan Foutch racked up a season-high six steals for the Feet (19-3, 7-0 Middle/East Region).

After the Bears used a 7-0 run to take a 13-9 edge early in the second stanza, Logan Burchett's two consecutive treys began the offensive avalanche. Hunter Foutch, helped by brother Jordan's three crucial steals, cashed in three short jumpers and Webb leaped to an eventual 29-15 halftime cushion.

The hosts opened the second half on a 7-2 spurt to seize a 19-point lead and then blew the game wide open moments later, knocking down 5-of-6 free throws following a Davidson Academy personal foul and two technical fouls.

"They are very well-coached and they just didn't shoot it very well tonight on the road, so we were very fortunate," Mitchell added. "That team plays hard and plays to the end of the game."

Spencer Harp paced Davidson Academy with 10 points.

Three seniors -- Jordan Burchett, Jordan Foutch and Pratik Patel -- played their final regular season home game for the Feet as Mitchell reflected on their substantial impact to the program.

"It was a good way (for them) to go out with a win and they have had a heck of a season. They have been some great leaders for us for two years, since I took this job. Those were the first kids I talked to when I came here.

"They have been and will continue to be very coachable, and they play real hard. It is a great bunch of guys and we'll never forget those guys. We just hope we can keep playing a little while and hopefully get one more home game (in the sectional)."

Webb hits the road for another region tilt Friday at the University School of Nashville. A win clinches the regular season region championship outright, while a loss would leave the squads in a tie with 7-1 league marks.

Mitchell's squad then travels back to USN for the region tournament semifinals on Feb. 15.

Webb once again showed everyone that are a force to be reckoned with on the court. Friday they will finally prove that they can and will be the true champions.
