A report issued last week from the Tennessee Board of Regents states the final spring enrollment count at Motlow is 4,027, which represents a 10 percent increases and tops last spring's record enrollment of 3,660 students.
"This is an exciting time at Motlow College," Apple said. "Reaching a spring enrollment of more than 4,000 students is cause for celebration, and we thank each one of our students for choosing to study at Motlow."
Spring numbers are up at all Motlow sites, with the largest percentage increase at McMinnville Center, where 805 students represent a 24.81 percent over last spring. At the Smyrna Teaching Site 1,195 students are enrolled, a 20.59 percent increase. Fayetteville Center enrollment reached 401, a 7.51 percent jump over last spring, and students taking classes on the Moore County campus total 2,252, a 3.73 percent increase over spring 2006.
Meanwhile, Middle Tennessee State University is also showing increased enrollment. A headcount of 21,648 students enrolled at MTSU this spring semester was submitted to the Tennessee Board of Regents last week week, said Sherian Huddleston, associate vice provost for enrollment services.
The spring enrollment is an increase of 352 students -- or 1.65 percent -- from the spring 2007 census submitted to TBR, she added. The Tennessee Board of Regents' 14-day census period ended Jan. 27. There were 21,296 students enrolled for spring classes in 2007.
The census reporting was delayed about 17 days because of software updates, said Huddleston, who added that the t was submitted Feb. 12.
MTSU continues to see an increase in re-enrolling students, she added. This semester, there are 1,225 re-enrollees -- 116 more than in 2007 when there were 1,109.
