The truck driver accused of causing an eight-vehicle pileup March 12 on Madison Street has been charged with reckless endangerment.

McInnis was told by Accident Investigator Matt Griffy she was being charged after police conferred with the district attorney's office.

Charles W. Jewell, 20, of Shelbyville was seriously injured when a box truck driven by McInnis crossed Madison Street from Bethany Lane. The truck struck Jewell's car hard in the driver's slde.

Jewell was listed in critical but stable condition Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he was taken following the accident.

Six of the damaged vehicles were on the lot of Trust Auto Sales.

It's sad that some people have nothing better to do than disturb cemeteries. I don't understand the thinking of people that do this or tear up mailboxes, spray paint bridges or buildings or any of the other vandalism. If they are caught they need to pay for the damage and do the work to restore the destruction. Have a good day.
